Thinking and Dreaming

I have been doing even more thinking and dreaming than usual. Big stuff, and hard stuff, and wonderful stuff. I can't wait to share more of my thoughts with you on the blog at some point. But for now, some little glimpses of my brain these days:

...I put up a note on facebook to see if a few people would help me out with my photography portfolio and was overwhelmed by the response from my community. Things are really happening with photography in my life and I couldn't be more excited.

...Last week I participated in this year's Winter course of Education Through Music which changed my life last year and continues to blow me away by how thought provoking and powerful the course is. Our education system is so incredibly broken in many ways, but there are also extraordinary teachers making a huge difference out there. I want to be one of them.

...My brother turned 17 this week. I don't know how it's even possible that he is this old. But he is such a cool dude, and I really like him. Happy birthday, kiddo!

...Our cats are wonderful and are also driving me nuts. Whiskey has this trick where he paws at the rim of the water bowl (ours is a weird plastic contraption that keeps the water moving constantly) and he scoots the bowl loudly across the floor. In the middle of the night. Donnie is a heavy sleeper, but I am not. My mom says I'm nesting and that's why I wake up so much. I say it means I don't sleep well. :) We are getting a new water bowl soon.

...I am really struggling with trying to figure out a work/life/cleaning/sleep balance. There are so many things that justifiably keep me up until midnight every night, but then I'm a zombie the next day. Not sustainable, so we'll see how I figure out how to balance that.

Here's a picture of a beautiful beautiful baby boy who will appear (soon, hopefully!) on the blog. The way he looks at his momma just makes me melt!

Here's to another week. Let's make it a great one. Happy Fall to all of you!
