Behind the Scenes at Kinzie Ferguson Photography

In a little less than two weeks, I'm heading out to Seattle for a friend's birthday party, and I'm also shooting a Fancy Lady Party -- which is basically the magic of a Fancy Lady Boudoir session, multiplied by a thousand. The ladies have been sending me inspiration boards, sharing outfit ideas... I seriously could not be more excited. I've been playing with some different shooting techniques lately, and I'm excited to play with them in my upcoming sessions. You already know about my homemade tilt-shift lens, inspired by the great Maddie, and made by Donnie as a birthday present in October. But I've also been playing with shooting through various fabrics. Here are some results from my practice sessions around home.

For your viewing pleasure, the "before" of our colorful drying rack, and the vacuum we got for free when some college kids were moving out of our apartment complex and dumped it in the hallway with a "free" sign, along with a $100+ knife, and some full bottles of booze. Their loss, I guess.

The same shot as the previous picture (duh), but shooting through fabric this time.

Whiskey makes an excellent boudoir practice model. :)

What a Fancy Gent he is!

So, that's a little bit of what has been going on behind the scenes these days. It's been so nice, amidst all the busy, to play a little with something new. I hope you've had a chance to do something a little different and crazy lately too. It's good for the spirit. :) Have a lovely weekend!
