This is a Thursday series in which I pause and acknowledge something big and important or something small and insignificant that has made me thankful. It is so important and incredibly refreshing to look at the positivity around us, when we are so often surrounded by negativity. I have very specific memories of this calendar from my childhood. I remember thumbing through the pages, I remember the little brass colored stand... My grandma has always been pretty consistent at turning the pages -- so it was always a treat when I would realize she had forgotten and I would get to turn a page myself.
The other day, I was at her house, and I caught a glimpse of the note while I was washing my hands.
Good temper, like a sunny day, sheds a brightness over everything; it is the sweetener of toil and the soother of disquietude.
The quotation struck me -- I have always done my best to be generally positive, because I've noticed it has had the power to make others feel joyful too; but I am not perfect. What a lovely, gentle reminder to continue sending out the love...
