I had the best time getting to know Jess, Jason, and Jason's daughter K. I had already met up with Jess and Jason so we could get to know each other and chat about the details of their wedding. Over drinks, they told me so much about Jason's daughter, and clued me into her smart, sassy, precocious personality. Rumor has it she's quite the fan of Project Runway, so I knew we would have lots to talk about! For this engagement session, we walked around the University of Illinois campus, and traipsed all over the Krannert Center for the Performing Arts building (my old stomping grounds in college) to find the perfect spots for pictures. It was a chilly day, but Jess and Jason were troopers -- and I slipped K some hand warmers for her pockets, so she was cheery enough about the cold weather too!
One of my favorite things about this session is that Jason was full of ideas the entire time. He would see some cool trees, or an interesting light fixture, and say, "Let's go take photos over there!" It was neat that he cared so much about the outcome and the location of the photos. I love when my clients are involved! :)
Now, enough talk, and onto the photos of this beautiful family...
I'm so glad I've gotten to know this family -- though I still need to meet their cats who, according to Jess, have as much personality as our cats do... if that's even possible!!
Thank you, Jess, Jason, and K, for going out on this crisp, chilly afternoon with me to shoot this engagement session. I am SO excited for your wedding in August!
